[bcab] Re: Netbooks

Hi Graham,

Regarding accessibility of wi fi devices. The blue tooth dongle I had was easy enough. The controls were in the task bar only and didn't show up anywhere else but easy enough to manage. As before, I'm not sure on the model but am waiting to find out what it was.

netbooks are so small that the speakers are never much good really. you should always use headphones.

There are WiFi devices that allow you to stream from a PC to a hifi or connect your PC to a HiFi wirelessly but I don't know if any of these are easily accessible so further information would indeed be good.

Cheers

Hello
One slight downside of the Advent 4211 is the awful speakers. It's a
fantastic machine for mobile reading - using it with SpeakOn has meant that my BookCourier is pretty well redundant, andwith an infra-red numeric pad I can download and enjoy high-quality (or at least, Daniel-quality!) reading
in armchair comfort.

Does anyne know of a wireless (Bluetooth?) device to link a Netbook to a
hi-fi? That would be the final link in the search for perfection.

Regards
Tony

Hi.

Those Asus 901 machines are quite a good choice but a friend bought one
and
had a problem turning off the mouse pad. It got damaged before I could
look
at it myself but that's another story.

How did you disable the mouse pad on yours or did you not have to?

Regards

Graham
