[bcab] Re: Microsoft Security Essentials

Hello Isaac and all,

Having downloaded this software, would it still be necessary to have Windows
Defender loaded and running?

Subject: [bcab] Microsoft Security Essentials

Hi all

I don't know if this was discussed here before, but I have seen on this list
and others the usual problems that people are having with their anti virus
programs.

If you are happy with the Windows firewall (I used it always with little
problems), Microsoft introduced about a month ago a free for personal use
anti virus program called 'Microsoft Security Essentials'.
It is a very light unlike some other anti virus programs where they started
light and ended up 'throwing in the kitchen sink' as well just to compete
with other AV programs.
You can easily Google for it. After you download and install it, start by
running a quick scan. It does the usual on access anti virus protection and
unlike some other AV it does not take much resources from your computer.
You will be wise to run (probably only once) the full scan which will take
several hours.

It is fully accessible and I have removed my previous AV as this one works
so well.

Regards
Isaac
