[bcab] Re: Members' CD - help and ideas.

Hi Leonie,

I have to confess that I've not applied myself to the task of getting together
the I T on In Touch, which brings back the feature Kevin used to do, partly,
but not wholly because my mind has been focused on my day job + Guide Cats. I
might see if I can look back through transcripts and summarise relevant items
from recent programmes, but I don't know how soon I'd be able to do that, to be
honest. I must make a resolution to do this as a matter of course each week.

As for Guide Cats, to get an interview with Les, you could email him at
les@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx to arrange this. Why not contact Peter Bosher to see if
he's got any suggestions as to how this could be done? He's got more expertise
on recording such things than I have. Also, ask him for an MP3 of one of the
tracks he recorded. I'd suggest "The Charge of the light brigade" live at
Epsom might be his most spectacular production.

I'd still like to investigate properly how we can sell a single track as a
download only, such that it could be eligible for singles chart inclusion, by
the way, but I seem to have reached stalemate in trying to find out how this
is done and how viable the idea would be.

Why not get Les to set a competition question, with a copy o f the new album as
a prize?

Best,
Clive

Clive,

I'm just starting to pull together content for the next members' CD,
due out in July. I really like the idea of, IT On In Touch, and was wondering
if you'd had any more thoughts on the subject?

I'd also like to make a bit of a feature of the new Guide Cats CD.
If you've got any ideas on how we could pizzazz it up, I'm open to suggestions.
Ideas currently floating around in my head include a CD giveaway as a prize for
a competition, an MP3 of one of the tracks or an interview with yourself or Les
Barker perhaps. Any ideas/comments most welcome.

Regards,
Léonie.

Hi Léonie,

I'm seriously considering taking up the "I T on In Touch" column that Kevin
used to do. Would that be for the newsletter, or for the membership CD?

Best,
Clive

Good afternoon,

I'm working on expanding the BCAB members' CD and I'd very much like your help.

I'd like to include much more information on the CD and I'd like to know the
kind of things you'd like to find.

One idea is to include a small section on accessible gaming. I'm about the last
person to know anything about computer gaming, so if there is anyone out there
who knows their Alien Outback from their Grizzly Gulch, then I'd really like to
hear from you.

It's also been suggested that a section looking at technologies and information
for low vision solutions would be welcome. Again, if you like this idea or feel
you could contribute some ideas, then I'd really like to hear from you.

The CD is intended to bring you news, information, ideas and anything else we
can think of. I'm absolutely open to ideas and offers of help, so if you've got
a good idea, please email secretary@xxxxxxxxxxx

Of course, if your not a member of BCAB, then much of this will be a complete
mystery. If you like the sound of the CD and would like to become a BCAB
member, please check out our website for more information.

Thanks,
Léonie.
