Another one to look at, which is smaller than those recorders in size, but
still a flash card recorder, is the Edirol R-09.  I am totally blind, I have

Hi All, 

Our local TN is once again looking to purchase a new "roving recorder".  We
never managed to convince our magazine edeitor (who also records most of the
interviews) to move to minidisk from cassette, but since the recorder she
uses is now seriously long in the tooth and not working very well, we've
been looking at current options. 

Of these, we identified the Marantz PMD 660 or 670 as possible candidates,
but are unable to get access to one to try it out and more importantly to
show it to our editor to see if she likes it.

Does anyone have any experience of these machines which would allow them to
give me an idea of their relative merits.  It would be nice if the
"successful candidate" were accessible to me (totally blind), as well as to
our editor, (sighted but not "technically adventurous"), however, this could
be based on a hopefully one-off configuration by sighted technophiles on the
committee.
