  Our daughter's got a mac.

   

  The thing is switching off, sometimes runs from mains. Any mac user tell me 
about any useful diagnostic tools such as something that indicates battery 
state or temperatures in the machine. I wonder if it is a clogged fan, but, 
don't know enough about macs to tell her where to look at it.
