Hi Tom,
Tell her not to use it on her lap or in bed. She’s very
likely blocking the air flow ducts and causing it to
overheat.
George.

Subject: [bcab] Mac Diagnostic tools
Our daughter's got a mac.
The thing is switching off, sometimes runs from mains. Any
mac user tell me about any useful diagnostic tools such as
something that indicates battery state or temperatures in
the machine. I wonder if it is a clogged fan, but, don't
know enough about macs to tell her where to look at it.
Tom
