[bcab] Re: MaGIC 10.5 Language Issue

Thanks for responding Alen, interesting.

I have been fortunate enough to find that version 10.0 of MAGIC is still
installed and working ok on the machine so not as terrible as I had
first thought. I have therefore since found my way around to the
Speech, then Global Voices, and checked the setting of Language, which
was already set to American English.

I will continue using version 10.0 over the festive period and manage
without Remote Access support until the new year when I will be able to
contact Sight and Sound and/or Freedom Scientific.

Hi Phil,

This issue is also affecting JAWS 8 on which I have a problem in XP Pro
MS Word 2003 where intermittantly, an FS error occurs with a braille
module breaking an exception limit. I only use JAWS with no refreshable
braille display and the result of this error is that an unreadable
portion of memory grinds everything to a halt.

It was suggested that a JAWS repair was run and subsequently, when in MS
Word 2003 in a table, when tabbing into a cell containing numeric data,
JAWS speaks in English. When cursoring through the numbers with PC
cursor active, everything turns into Spanish, however when routing the
JAWS cursor to the cell and going through the data
character-by-character, JAWS talks in English. So far, I've had no
advice as to what to do to get back to 100% English. Anyone else had
this problem? This problem has existed for about two weeks.

Alan
