[bcab] Lotus notes 7

Hello,
Please does anyone know how I can create/ edit a button in a document in
Lotus notes 7 using JAWS 9 ? I can access the button menu but I can't get to
the part where I am meant to paste the link that will be triggered upon
clicking the document. Sighted users can see the text field which seems to
be a sub menu of the button menu but JAWS does not read anything out to me.
Also, if anyone has any advice or manual apart from the JAWS help topics for
Lotus Notes 7, I will really appreciate if they can let me have a read
through. Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Olu Ogbe

Hi all.
Has anyone had experience of the Tiger range of embossers for printing
Braille material that uses graphics?
I have been asked about whether the Tiger braille embosser could be used
to print out a graph produced in Excel. My initial reaction is that this
may not be possible without considerable editing and rescaling from a
third party to ensure that written information fits properly. Also, while
I know the Tiger can produce graphics, I don't know what the limitations
of this ability are.
If anyone has experience of this kind of work I would be interested to
know about it.

Graham

Hi folks
Picked this up elsewhere.
The Social Accessibility Project is a service whose goal is to make
Web pages more accessible to people with disabilities. The service
gathers users' input and uses the power of the open community while
not changing any existing content.
This pilot service focuses on users of screen readers. Users
encountering Web access problems anywhere at any time can immediately
report problems to the Social Accessibility server. Volunteers (called
supporters) can be quickly notified and can easily respond by creating
and publishing the requested accessibility metadata, which will help
other users who encounter the same problems. Users themselves are also
allowed to improve accessibility of pages by sharing landmarks on a
page.

Hi All.
I've recently been hearing a lot about the Braille Sense and Voice Sense
from Gwmicro.
How do they compare to say the Braille/voice note or the packmate?
Are they a closed platform like the Braille/voice note where what you
get is specifically designed for the device so works very well or is it
more like the packmate where it's just a screen reader on a PDA?
Can you get a QWERTY keyboard built in or is it just Braille input?
Who sells them in the UK and where would I get a price list?
Thanks for any info.
Cheers.
Nick.

My understanding is that they are based on Windows 2005 but accept my
appologies if I am wrong about this. I have only seen the braille
versions
of these products. The company that sells them in the UK is Force ten.
A key issue with products like this is support. If the Braille Sense goes
wrong, what kind of support can you get? Does force Ten have staff that
can
give you support that are based in the office or is it likely that you
will
have to wait a day or 2 if staff are training or out at exhibitions?
I recently visited force Ten's site and I have to say I found the
accessibility very poor with unlabled graphics and a general lack of
propper
use of headings, tables etc. Maybe I visited the wrong site but see what
you think. Also contact force ten perhaps and ask more questions.

Hi, Microlink PC (UK) LTD also supply them in the UK. The Voice Sense, at
£1300 is much cheaper. I can't remember if there is a querty of that, but
I'm pretty sure there is for the Braille Sense. I had a look at their
whole
range at Sight Village and was very impressed with the size of everything
and the price. The notetakers include all the usuals, calendar, contacts,
word processor, internet, msn messenger etc. How these individual things
work I'm not sure, but it all looked pretty intuitive and menu driven from
the quick look I had.

You can do many things simultaneously on the Braille sense. You can
browse the internet while listening to mp3s. Or write a word document
while editing audio etc. You can't do that on the other notetakers.
You can do GPS while writing notes. Also, the service and support is
superior. I use a Braille Sense 32, and if anyone wants one also, I
also have an extra I have not ended up having to use since they are so
reliable. I can sell it for 1450 pounds, and it is like new.

I'm trying to identify a pen drive that comes with privacy software, so
that you can set up a password without which the pen drive contents
cannot be accessed. I've come across a few of these, but none which
don't have greater or lesser issues when it comes to keyboard use. I'm
wondering if anyone has any thoughts about a good candidate for further
testing?
Please note that this needs to be software that lives on the pen drive;
I'm not looking for something like TrueCrypt that allows you to encrypt
information and then place it on the drive.
If anyone is a guru on these devices, I've looked at the Kingston Data
Traveller Secure Privacy Flash Drive and thought it was very nice except
that some of the features aren't accessible with the keyboard. If I
could come up with something like that, but fully keyboard accessible,
I'd be happy.
Cheers,
Steve

Hi,
Some of this post is factually incorrect. You can also do GPS while
writing
notes on the Braille Note. On the BT versions, backspace with Enter with
W
to get into the Word Processor from anywhere, then backspace with enter
with
N to get back to navigation, and GPS keeps right on running.
Just thought I'd point that out, since this post gives incorrect
impressions
of the Braillenote's power. You can also be on the web and go back to the
word processor in a similar manner. Or do any other task.
You can only do two simultaneously, but that ought to be enough for
anyone.
Oh yes, and you can listen to an MP3 and browse the net as well.
On the down side, you can't do MSN with Braillenote.
All the best
Steve

I've recently been hearing a lot about the Braille Sense and Voice Sense from Gwmicro. How do they compare to say the Braille/voice note or the packmate? Are they a closed platform like the Braille/voice note where what you get is specifically designed for the device so works very well or is it more like the packmate where it's just a screen reader on a PDA? Can you get a QWERTY keyboard built in or is it just Braille input? Who sells them in the UK and where would I get a price list? Thanks for any info. Cheers. Nick. Date: Tue, 29 Jul 2008 09:12:57 +0100 My understanding is that they are based on Windows 2005 but accept myappologies if I am wrong about this. I have only seen the braille versions
of these products. The company that sells them in the UK is Force ten. A key issue with products like this is support. If the Braille Sense goeswrong, what kind of support can you get? Does force Ten have staff that can give you support that are based in the office or is it likely that you will
have to wait a day or 2 if staff are training or out at exhibitions? I recently visited force Ten's site and I have to say I found theaccessibility very poor with unlabled graphics and a general lack of propper
use of headings, tables etc. Maybe I visited the wrong site but see what you think. Also contact force ten perhaps and ask more questions. I can't remember if there is a querty of that, butI'm pretty sure there is for the Braille Sense. I had a look at their whole
range at Sight Village and was very impressed with the size of everything and the price. The notetakers include all the usuals, calendar, contacts, word processor, internet, msn messenger etc. How these individual things work I'm not sure, but it all looked pretty intuitive and menu driven from the quick look I had. You can do many things simultaneously on the Braille sense. You can browse the internet while listening to mp3s. Or write a word document while editing audio etc. You can't do that on the other notetakers. You can do GPS while writing notes. Also, the service and support is superior. I use a Braille Sense 32, and if anyone wants one also, I also have an extra I have not ended up having to use since they are so reliable. I can sell it for 1450 pounds, and it is like new. ------------------------------ Subject: [bcab] Secure/private flash drive Date: Tue, 29 Jul 2008 17:28:42 +0100 From: "Griffiths, Steve" <Steve.Griffiths@xxxxxxxxxxx> I'm trying to identify a pen drive that comes with privacy software, so that you can set up a password without which the pen drive contents cannot be accessed. I've come across a few of these, but none which don't have greater or lesser issues when it comes to keyboard use. I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts about a good candidate for further testing? Please note that this needs to be software that lives on the pen drive; I'm not looking for something like TrueCrypt that allows you to encrypt information and then place it on the drive. If anyone is a guru on these devices, I've looked at the Kingston Data Traveller Secure Privacy Flash Drive and thought it was very nice except that some of the features aren't accessible with the keyboard. If I could come up with something like that, but fully keyboard accessible, I'd be happy. Date: Tue, 29 Jul 2008 19:30:13 +0100 Hi,Some of this post is factually incorrect. You can also do GPS while writing notes on the Braille Note. On the BT versions, backspace with Enter with W to get into the Word Processor from anywhere, then backspace with enter with
N to get back to navigation, and GPS keeps right on running.Just thought I'd point that out, since this post gives incorrect impressions
of the Braillenote's power. You can also be on the web and go back to the word processor in a similar manner. Or do any other task. You can only do two simultaneously, but that ought to be enough for anyone.
Oh yes, and you can listen to an MP3 and browse the net as well. On the down side, you can't do MSN with Braillenote. All the best Steve -----Original Message-----From: bcab-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bcab-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf
