[bcab] Re: Jaws 8 and SoundForge 9 problems

Hi Sunil

As you know, I answered this on the Access UK list, and you have
confirmed the fix works. But just in case anyone has the same problem,
go into the view menu, and disable the channel metres. That will
resolve the issue.

Hi Sunil. A mate of mine who was initially v enthusiastic about SF9
because it had multi-channel capability suddenly went v cold when he
started investigating. Sound Forge has steadily got worse since about
Version 6 when Sony took it over and apparently, according to him, SF9
with Jaws is as unstable as hell. Why not continue with an earlier
version of SF for a good few months until SF9 has been debugged a bit.

Hi, I'm running the latest version of Jaws and just installed
SoundForge 9. I'm having problems straight away. When I cursor files
in the open files dialog,

Jaws just stops talking. I close SF and reboot and try again
but the same thing happens. I've got two sound cards installed so that
Jaws comes through

a USB one and everything else out of the default sound card.
I've changed to Windows classic driver from MS sound mapper in the audio
tab in preferences

in SF too. Is there an issue with JFW and SF9 or should it be
working properly? One more thing, during the install process I got a
message recommending

that I exit Jaws before continuing. I didn't exit Jaws and just
hit the ignore button on the SF install. Might this have anything to do
with Jaws freezing?...cheers
