[bcab] Re: I've lost my desktop icon for Internet explorer, how can I retrieve it please

Actually, if you go to internet options in I.E itself, then go to the advanced tab, scroll down the list and you will find "show I.E on the desktop.

Hi Alexander
Try the following.
Go to My Computer
Select the system drive (usually C:)
Go to Program Files
Then the Internet Explorer folder
There you should find the file IEXPLORE.EXE
Now Right click on that program icon and Create Shortcut
Finally drag the resulting shortcut onto the Desktop
You should now have a shortcut to Internet Explorer

If you want to change the Icon, right click on the new icon
and select Properties and select Change Icon - choose your preference

Good luck

Hi Norman,

my problem was that I had deleted the shortcut rather than
the actual program, but with help from other list members
the shortcut has been restored or at least recreated. all I
need to do now, as I've said on another thread, is to
reassign the correct picture to the shortcut.
