[bcab] Re: Internet error message query

Internet explorer's main executable file is "iexplorer.exe". So what you
really mean is, every time
you exit the world wide web, internet explorer crashes. The memory figures
after that are not
particularly significant, they just refer to the memory used by the crash.
This has nothing to do
with Jaws, though it could be down to low memory available. That is, not the
physical amount of
RAM, but the amount of free RAM in the session at the time due to the number of
processes running.

You could try re-installing internet explorer, and if you use version 6 upgrade
it to 7, which is
more stable.

This could also be due to an Internet Explorer configuration setting of some
kind, and those can be
changed without opening the browser fully by going to the I E icon on your
desktop and pressing
ALT+Enter on it. Options within the browser likely to cause crashes include
bad browser add-ons
(e.g. AVG 8's "safe search", or adobe flash, or the google toolbar).
Although in program terms
people often think of web browser software as fairly simple kit, the reality is
that it handles many
more file types and scripting than the average PC program, due to to the huge
plethora of different
coding used on the web nowadays. And a particular website can quite easily
make a web browser
crash, too.

Lastly you could give Firefox 3 a try. It is third party rather than being a
Microsoft product, is
also free, highly accessible, and less vulnerable to security threats and
therefore instability by
quite a long way.
