[bcab] Re: HTML code madness

Hi,

Thanks for all who sent in their 2 cents worth.

Life is seeming rather too short for a full dealing of this problem as
others with the same setup as me seem to have no problem. Weirdly, I have
had some emails from others who have experienced the same kind of behaviour
on for example, the BBC radio player.

Time for a long lie down.

Cheers all,

Karl

Karl,

Reads okay for me whether I put something in the title or not. I'm using
JAWS 7.1 with all default settings and IE7.

Does that help, or make you feel even worse?

Steve

Subject: [bcab] HTML code madness

Hi,

OK, so here I am writing some very basic HTML to make a simple web page
out
of some data, and when I check if it is reading ok I find that after a
few
items in the first unordered list JAWS stops speaking the links but
simply
says "bullet".

From then on JAWS doesn't speak any list content, just keeps on saying
"bullet" throughout every new unordered list.

Strange I think and check the HTML for obvious typos etcetera, Cannot
find
anything wrong.

After some messing around I find that if I erase the Title of the page
it
starts reading normally. If I put anything between the <title> and
</title>
elements then the whole thing goes stupid after the fourth item in the
first
unordered list.

I have copied the bare HTML below, without a title attribute and if
anyone
can stop me feeling like I am going out of my little mind I would be
most
grateful.

Oh yeah, I'm using Jaws 7.1 and IE7.

Thanks folks.

Karl
