Subject: office 2007 templates and help
Hi all.
I have recently acquired a new PC with Windows Vista and a copy of Office 2007
Professional.
I have found using Vista to be relatively straight forward in the main and wish
I could say the same of Office 2007.
I know you can go to the ribbon menu with alt, move between the different
ribbons with right/left arrow and tab to go through the items on each ribbon.
I find the alocation of things on ribbons to be really quite odd however so I
need to use keyboard shortcuts and I can't remember the shortcut for everything
so I tried to go into help to find out. Has anyone managed to get Office 2007
help working? I go into help and get a search box. I type in what I want, in
this case templates and I press tab and hear Menu Options. word template is in
there and I can arrow down to it and press enter. Pressing f6 does not seem to
bring up anything readable however.
Secondly, I want to install some templates created in Word 2003 that I use for
work. I am trying to find out in which directory I need to put them to get
them working and do I need to save them as Office 2003 templates? Once I find
the right place to put the template, how do I create a new file based on this
template? Pressing alt f followed by N seems to bring up some kind of lists of
lots of templates but the list looks different from word 2003. I have tried
putting the file in c:\users\my account name\app
data\roaming\microsoft\templates which is where Office 2003 templates live but
Office 2007 doesn't seem to pick them up.
any help much appreciated.
Cheers
graham
