[bcab] Re: Flash movies and snakes and ladders

Thanks for these answers Mark. At work, I'm using Jaws 8, but at home,
I haven't yet got round to upgrading from Jaws 7.

A supplementary question: What do web accessibility guidelines say about
the use of flash movies, if anything? I thought it was not generally
considered good practice to have moving elements on a page. Can Flash
movies also potentially cause problems for people with epilepsy? How
easy or difficult can they make the page to read if you have dyslexia?

Thanks,
Clive

Hi
what screen reader are you using?

I can offer a reason for the first question. It's because the flash
movie is constantly refreshing so the cursor is drawn back to it as the
page changes.

Cheers

        Hi all,

sometimes, when I am looking at a webpage and tabing through the
links, I hit a flash movie. When I get to Flash Movie end and tab
again, the links that are spoken often back track, so that I tab forward
and get to the flash movie start. Next time it may not happen, or I
coul backtrack to a different point in the list.

        1. Why does this happen?
        2. How can I stop it happening?

        Thanks,
        Clive
