Hello everyone,

I am with the Humanware Low Vision dealer in Texas and have some news to
share for those who are on this list.

As we all know and Humanware realizes, a problem exists that when
transferring files to the SD card using the stream itself rather than
using
a card reader,, users are experiencing lockups and slower than expected
downloads. This has caused questions to come up about whether or not the
VR
Stream has 2.0 USB capability. Humanware assured the dealers that yes
the
units do have USB 2.0 and that an upgrade to be released in early 2008
will
bring the current download rate up from approximately 9MB per minute to
30mb
per minute. They do say that the download speed can vary from SD card
to SD
card, but with the use of their recommended SanDisk cards, they are
testing
and receiving 30mb per minute.

I hope this gives everyone something to look forward to. I, myself,
copy
and paste files to my SD card using the card reader, but it would sure
be
nice to do it efficiently with the Victor Reader Stream itself.
