Hi Alan,
I speak with 20 years of working with Index embossers.
Common question with techies, and the answer is that you do
not normally need them with embossers of that age. You
simply tell the braille software to output to a specified
port such as LPT1, 2 or 3 if parallel, or COM1, 2, 3 etc, if
serial.
Goes against the grain with them, but it works. DO NOT be
tempted into installing Index's Winbraille drivers.
Feel free to call me if you want more details. 0160 479

Subject: [bcab] Drivers for Index Basic Braille Printer?
Afternoon All
Here in the office I've been upgraded to a totally new PC
build (still
Windows 2000). The Technicians are trying to get my Index
Basic to work
but they can't track down the drivers can anyone point me in
the right
direction please?
The printer itself is over 10 years old.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Cheers
Alan
