[bcab] Re: Converting cassettes to mp3

Hi Sunil

The Ion tape deck comes with two bits of software that can be used to record with. One is called something like EZ Tape Converter and is, I think, more geared to music recording, but I haven't messed with that one. The other is Audacity, which is usable by a blind person with JAWS 10, although it does require some use of the JAWS cursor. As regards using Sound Forge, I had a look at using it, but couldn't find a way of getting the software to recognise input via USB. If you find a way of doing that and you're familiar with Sound Forge, I'd say that would be the best way to go.

Kind regards

Steve

Subject: [bcab] Converting cassettes to mp3

Hi,

I've got a laundry basket full of cassettes to convert to mp3s. There were
some posts about a usb tape deck on this list a couple of months ago made by
Ion. Does it come with software that records the audio coming through the
soundcard? If so, is the software easy to use for someone using Jaws 10? Or
would software like SoundForge be a better option?

Thanks a lot
Sunil
