A propos my last email, I have implemented Tony's suggestion, but written a
vb program to disconnect/reconnect me to the network.
Now comes the tricky bit, does it make any difference?
More tomorrow.
Dave.

Thanks to all those who've replied to this. Its become an issue just
recently, and may, as Tony suggests, be something to do with the network
connection. Its become important because of a project I'm currently
undertaking. Here's a brief run down on my system:
Its a 1.4ghz processor.
I have a soundblaster audigy, with a large breakout box.
I'm permanently connected to the network.
Its a problem with all recording programs.
It didn't used to be a problem.
I have windows xp pro.
Any further advice will be received with much gratitude.
Thanks,
Dave.

Hello Dave,
do you have an alternate sound card you might install?
So many variables, ellimination is the only way forward I think. Are
your drivers up to date? Does this happen with any recording source?
Just some thoughts, which I guess you've considered anyway.
best,
Joe

Hi all,
I am having trouble recording directly to my PC at the moment.
Playing files is fine, but when recording, tiny bits get skipped, and the
recording is ruined.
I have defragged the drives, cleared as much stuff out of the system tray
as is safely and humanly possible.
I will be grateful for any suggested solutions to this problem.
I should say that the computer is part of a home network with one other
computer on it.
Thanks,
Dave.
