Hi,
If you know which make of machine you have (if it is branded), or the
motherboard in the machine, then you can find out that way, otherwise, I
usually take the top off.
Some machines have strict memory requirements, others have specific slots, and
only take up to so much memory, so I always try and find out the motherboard
before doing this.
Thanks.
Andrew.

Subject: [bcab] Computer Memory
Hi all,
Does anyone know how to find out what type of memory a computer has? I'm aware
that there are two types for older computers. Does anyone know if there is a
way of ascertaining the type of memory used so that more can be purchased but
ensuring that it is the right type prior to paying for it. Is there a way of
establishing the type of memory through the system properties or do you need to
take the top off the computer to source this type of information?
Many thanks.
Karina
