Hello Richard
You may missunderstand me that I am some kind of CITRIX guru whcih I
certainly am not we don't tend to deal with intimate configuration of
these systems but telll customers what sort of things they need to do in
order to make JAWS/Magic work. However I think in the case of CITRIX
Program Neighbourhood (assuming this is what you use) it would be a
question of creating a new connection on the specific client PC. When
you go through that wizard process it is possible to direct it to a
specific server in your farm. For other clients I am not sure whether
it is possible or what process you would need to go through but someone
in your IT department should be able to answer those questions.
Regards.

Hi, Tristram

I'd be interested to learn how to resolve this, please, as it's a
problem I've faced without an obvious solution because of workload
balancing. Consequently, we're going down the road of Terminal Services
with a VDI session although this precludes JAWS as it doesn't work with
VMWare.
Any advice grately and gratefully received!

[bcab] Re: Citrix mainframe.
We deal with quite a number of CITRIX remote access installations. In
the early days people were very averse to insstalling the JAWS
components but in most recent times I haven't come accross any
objections to this. Partly this is because it is possible to install
the necessary components without having to restart the server which is
probably what would really frighten the admins. A more common problem
is that of assigning machines for the client PC to hit as it is not
usually feasable to put Dolphin or JAWS or whoever's onents onto numbers
sometimes in the hundreds of machines in server farms, however this can
usually be resolved.
On the issue of problem stated I think the user or someone on their
behalf should contact Dophin Support for assistance. This is a complex
area and one tthing that may not work right out of the box. Also I
imagine Dophin do something similar as does JAWS/Magic by communicating
directlyl between remote and client PCs avoiding sound channels at all
but Dolphin Support should be able to help with that aspect of it.
There also many other things in the path of communication
notwithstanding various different configurations that can cause problems
in this area.
Regards.
