[bcab] Re: Catnav CDs

Hi Clive,

My understanding with the information used by Windows Media Player and similar
products, that they pick up the info from the internet based on a unique
signature for the CD composed of the timings for each track. If this is
correct (which I'm by no means sure) this might mean that once the information
has been placed on the internet, presumably as part of the process of preparing
the next batch of CDs, then the information should be available to Media Player
if I were to attempt the "ripping" process again.

Do you (or anyone else) know if this is true?

Regards and thanks,

Tim

Tim, it would appear that there was an omission on the first pressing of the
CD, which means that when you put it into your computer, it comes up with
"Unknown album", Unknown artist". I intend to get this information in-filled
before the next batch of CD's is pressed. Meanwhile, we hope to have the track
list information uploaded to the BCAB website before long.

Please may I apologise to anyone for the inconvenience of not having the track
lists come up automatically first time around. Yours isn't the first enquiry
I've had asking why titles and artists are not coming up this time. It was
done as a matter of course on the previous albums, but I was told I should have
asked this time around, which I find puzzling, I must say. I didn't ask
because I didn't know there was a question to be asked.

BTW, it would be interesting to know, and to post up comments on FaceBook,
saying what is your favourite track from the album and why. Anyone who wants
to provide a sentence or two for inclusion can do so by emailing:

All the best,
Clive

Subject: [bcab] Catnav CDs
All,

Purchased my copy of the excellent Catnav CD set last week. I'm really
impressed with the content, but have a query about the CD format. I attempted
to load the CDs into my Windows Media library, and noticed that Windows Media
Player doesn't seem to be able to pick up track information to label the tracks
in the library. Is this correct, or a problem with my configuration?
Regards,

Tim
