Dear Ibby:
Try contacting:
HYPERLINK "mailto:eu.support@xxxxxxxxxxxxx"eu.support@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or
HYPERLINK "mailto:maurice.sloane@xxxxxxxxxxxxx"maurice.sloane@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
if the eu.support people cannot give you an answer.
As a general rule, if the serial connector installed on the KeyNote SA is
male, and it was intended to be connected to a PC serial port, which is also
male, then you will need a null modem adapter in the circuit.
This is usually the case when trying to connect two devices with connectors
of the same gender (male or female).
If the two devices have connectors of opposite gender, then usually you need
a "straight through" cable.
Thirds is if the equipment makers adhere strictly to the RS-232-C standard.
However this standard does not specify the actual connectors, e. g. DB-9 or
DB-25 for the circuit and in the back of the standard, they provide 21
different wiring diagrams, all of which comply with the standard!
As you can tell, the standard was developed by a committee!
