plugging on to see what the speed problem might be on my line.
Changed from a USb to an Ethernet connection, and seems to be about a third up.
Downstream of 2.5 as against 1.8.
The more interesting thing for people is the question of the fault threshhold.
Given what someone was saying about sky and its promises.
The minimum for my line is around 1.7. Anything below that is considered a
fault. That's pretty interesting when it is only about a fifth of the max
promised. Part of my problem was that one of the broadband folks said there was
a fault. This could simply mean the speed is dropping below their minimum
threshhold and of course might say nothing about the physical line. They also
say that we are not charged for speed but for usage.
