What about downloading television programmes? I find it very hard to navigate
this iPlayer now and if anyone can give me a direct link that I can go directly
to the page where I put in text in the Search edit box I would appreciate this.

Before everyone gets too worried, the Iplayer remains exactly the same.
It's the download manager that has been updated to use Adobe Air. Screen reader
users are advised to follow the "More downloads link", and select Windows Media
Player to download programmes instead.

Unless things have changed very recently, it isn't inaccessible with JAWS
either. It seems to me that like the death of Mark Twain, rumours of the
inaccessibility of the BBC iPlayer have been greatly exaggerated.

Dear Mark,
I am sure that on this issue RNIB should be getting more involved sounds
like an inaccessible player to me that is why i haven't ever bothered with it.
With all of my additional problems i htink i stick with what i know for the
moment.

Hi all
Just to warn you guys and I don't think anyone have posted this thread
about Iplayer Download Manager will be switching to adobe air, I will just have
to say you can either use the Webbie Iplayer feature or if you go to other
downloads and then use Windows Media player to download the programmes to
there. I think adobe will need to inform that their adobe air is not accessible
to screen readers. Hope to hear your views on that matter between the BBC and
adobe.
Mark Conquer.
