[bcab] BBC IPlayer: winding back and forwards within radio programmes

Hello,

I haven't been able to find a way to skip backwards and forwards within
radio programmes, e.g. jump forward 5 minutes, jump back 30 minutes,
etc. Under the old Listen-again replaced last year, it was possible to
do this. I do see buttons on IPlayer pages, with numbers 1 2 3 4 and 5,
but have no idea what they do, or even whether they will do anything.

I also notice that different radio programmes resume differently. If,
for example, I'm using listen-again to hear a radio 2 programme, and
quit out of its IPlayer page, when I come back to the programme, it
resumes from where I left off. Last week, when listening to Nick
Robbins on BBC Stoke, I quit out of the programme and clicked again to
listen, and was taken right back to the beginning of the shoe. This
means that there is only one way to listen to the programme - straight
through from beginning to end. I have a BBC radio Kent programme to
monitor for a Les Barker interview tomorrow, and it's four hours long!

1. Is it possible to navigate these programmes with Jaws? and if not:
2. Does anyone out there know how long it is now likely to be before
users of speech screen readers will be able to adjust the volume, skip
through a programme, and so on? I have a feeling that accessibility
considerations like this were promised for the radio IPlayer some time
ago. I hope I'm not going to be told that it all works if you go
through via one route, but not if you go through another, which feels
unnecessarily complicated to me.

Thanks,
Clive
