[bcab] Re: Attachments with .doc.amw

Hi George

I had two emails today with these strange extensions, and both were from
trusted sources.

I have just sent a test message to myself with a .doc file attachment, and
the attachment came in with the .doc.amw suffix.

Cheers

Barry

Hi Barry,

Be EXTREMELY careful if any attachment with a double extension like
this. Even if you know the sender, do not open it before checking
that they have in fact sent you a message, and that that is the name
of the file.

George.

Subject: [bcab] Attachments with .doc.amw

Hi all

In several messages that I received today, attachments have the suffix
.doc.amw. I've had a look on Google, but I can't find anything about
amw. I
can't open the attachments directly from Outlook, but I can if I save
them
to my computer and open them in Windows Explorer.

Can anyone shed any light on this suffix?

I'm using Windows XP and Office 2003, and I've just started using a
trial
version of Outpost Firewall.

Cheers

Barry
