[bcab] Announcement - An Introduction to MP3 and Daisy - Saturday 6th October

Dear list member

So many of us rely on recorded information: talking
newspapers, magazines and books, instruction manuals or even
information taped by ourselves. As our compact cassette
players start to fail us, there is something else we can use
instead. This is MP3 and Daisy.

We are calling our day on 6th October, "An Introduction to
MP3 and Daisy". At this event, MP3 and Daisy will each be
described and demonstrated; and you can talk with people who
use MP3 and Daisy players.

You will also have quiet time with one-to-one help to try
out the equipment. All this is taking place at the RNIB in
Central Birmingham and it costs £25 per person.

You might say that you would pay that price for a slap-up
meal. Well, if you are there with us on the day, you will
get a pleasant two-course lunch and a slap-up information
and hands-on day with refreshments included.

If you would like further information or would like to book
a place on this event, you can phone me on 020 7275 7650 and
leave your name and phone number after eight rings if I
don't answer. If you use e-mail, you can send your
enquiries to:

events@xxxxxxxxxxxx

And I will reply to you.

We in AVIOS have arranged this introduction to MP3 and Daisy
as a helpful and informative day without the crowds and
noise of your average exhibition. You don't need a computer
to use MP3 and Daisy as portable players are on sale now;
but people with computers can benefit from it too.

This event is arranged and presented by the Association of
Visually impaired Office Staff. If you wish to attend,
please book by 8th September as we have a lot of
preparations to make.
