Hello Tom
My 4211 has a ReakTek card (or chipset as probably embedded on motherboard) and
I have found it particularly good for picking up wifi. Tried it with public
hotspots in England, Belgium, Holland and Italy and had no probs connecting
apart from Italy where I needed to be quite near source. My wife's laptop would
not pick up on this signal at all (she uses a RoverBook which I think is a
rebadged Toshiba). My desktop also uses RealTek chips for networking - no
problem.
Can't say if I've just been lucky or you've bought a dog.
Like you I bought from PC World. Today had news that PC World probably won't
exist after Christmas which is not good news guarantee wise.
Regards
Tony

Hi Tom,
Well I can honestly say I have no problems so far with the MSI Wind. It runs
like, well, like the Wind <Smile>.
All the best

Partly a curio as I have booked the advent for a repair. Wireless connection
drops off almost immediately on connection. Have a realtech card with what is
supposedly the latest drivers from thetechguys site.
There is supposedly a general prob with this card. does anyone else have this
or are folk using different wireless cards?
My first machine's battery failed within a month and it took PC world more
than a month to get another one so I got a replacement machine. I have had this
machine for just over a month and problems.
I really like the concept of the net book, but, beginning to think that
either I am hell of unlucky or the machine is not what it was cracked up to be.
I would be wary about getting one. As the Irish man said when asked the way
to cork, "If I was you, I wouldn't start from here".
