In reply to your question, I don't have a hearing problem. These earphones
can be used with any device such as a computer, radio etc.
With noise canceling earphones, there is special electronics which cancels
some of the background noise (it is a reduction not complete canceling).
Until a few years ago, this technology was very expensive and consequently
only available to professions such as pilots, these days the price came down
a lot.
This technology does some tricks with sound wave generated to the ear
(cancelling the noise), as you saw on the list, two people suffered some
side effects from this - I have no problems and use it all the time.
