Hello
A couple of years or so ago I bought a pair of active headphones by Sennheiser
- not as cheap and cannot change the earpieces. I was (and am) impressed by
their quality, particularly for travelling. However, I noticed that after
prolonged use - say 7 hours odd at a stretch - that I started to get a form of
tinitis. I could hear a permanent slight hissing in my ears which persisted
after I stopped listening. It would gradually fade (taking about a week) but
instantly re-appear if I used the phones for more than an hour or so before it
had faded completely.
This may be due to the Book Courier rather than the phones (or anno domini!)
and listening for shorter times (say 4 hours or so) doesn't give a problem.
Anyone else found this or is it just me?
Regards
Tony

Subject: [bcab] Active noise cancelling earphones
Hello all
The following may be of interest to you if you travel in noisy environments.
A few months ago I bought Philips SHN2500 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones
from Argos for just under £20.
These earphones come with rubber seals in three sizes which you attach at the
tip of the earpiece to fit the size of your ear. It operates using a small
battery (supplied).
I found these earphones effective on the train and in airplanes and can
recommend this - the rubber seal prevent a lot of noise entering the ear canal
from the outside environment and the noise cancelling system does the rest - it
is not perfect but very good in my opinion - certainly for the price.
You can find more about it here:

Some of the reviews are not good but I love these.

Isaac
