Thanks Jim,
I'm not currently trying to put footnotes into a document, or change the
contents of the ones already there. When I read through a large
document from someone else, I want to be able to access footnotes
without too much hassle. I've tried the suggestion of cursoring down
the page line by line, but it slows down my progress through the
document. In one case, I reached the footnotes I wanted, footnotes 4, 5
and 6 of the document, but then it started reading out the contents of
footnotes 56 and 57. When I came back out of the footnotes into the
main document, I found myself on page 42, having come in at page 14.
I'm hoping there is a more satisfactory solution than this, or is it
the case that footnotes are accessible after a fashion, but not terribly
usable?
Thanks,
Clive

Clive,
Insert menu, Reference. If you want to modify a footnote go into
Reference in the Insert menu and press the Applications key and arrow up
to Modify.

Hi all,
please can anybody remind me how to read the contents of a
footnote in MS Word - where Jaws ins saying: "Footnote: 1", for example.
Is it a Jaws or a MS Word command I need to find the footnote contents?
Thanks,
Clive
