Even this piece of info is most useful. Many thanks.

Hi P. I'm afraid I don't know Jaws well enough. I often just go into
Explorer, find the USB drive and use the context menu key to get the list which
includes "eject". Choosing eject then makes it safe to remove.

Hi all,
On this subject I have a different problem. I can not locate the button that
closes the flash without having to close the computer. Is there a way to find
this? I still am on Jaws 7.x.
Cheers,
Panagiotis

Hi Derek,
If it doesn't appear in My computer, and yet you can hear the usual sound
as it is plugged in or out, you may just have a similar problem to one I had.
Go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager and the navigate down to the
USB section. Make a careful note of what's there, and then plug in the 8 GB
drive. Look to see what has been added - in my case, it was a "USB Composite
Device". Select the new device, right click on it and select properties. You
may well find on examining properties that the device is "Disabled". Click on
"Enable".
I have this problem every time I take my Lexar 4 GB drive from being used
in XP, back to my Vista system. It's very annoying.
George.
