Hi Shooters -
Sorry I've been out of touch. I've been busy-biz in the extreme. My local
high school was on the cusp of cancelling its wrestling program for lack of a
coach. Last week I volunteered on a Friday and was head coach on Monday. LOL
- life can move pretty fast! I'm pretty well tied up though February so It
might be a while before we hold a sanctioned USPSA match.
Pistol Committee: Clean up day on Saturday, December 10th. Please come out
and lend a hand. Ross Hill is looking great and just need a few touches to get
it 100% for the winter. Here are my favorites:
Outdoors:
- "Stick up - pick up" from the berms
- Junk wood clean up on the range floors
- Replace target backers/ throw away old plywood on ground behind backers
- Weed whack any Russian Olive trees that I missed a few months back
- Cut wood / split wood and stack on wood rack by stove.
- Collect kindling for wood stove. Fill a cardboard box from the basement
with kindling wood and store by stove.
Club house:
- New sinks and fixtures
- Shut off value in the basement
- Inline water filter in the basement to trap sand. (install shut off
valves on both sides)
- Use 2x4's and screws to brace log holder and fill with firewood
Our goal is to turn Ross Hill into the best pistol facility in the state and
we're well on our way to making that happen! Thanks in advance for all your
help!
IDPA: Wade held another fabulous match last Sunday and it was greatly enjoyed.
The stage call " Yo Homie" was particularly well liked! Congrats to all who
shot and helped out!
USPSA: It's a official - We are "NE 31 - The Bradford Action Shooters"! See
attached certificate that will end up framed in the club house! If anyone has
some shooting pictures from the 2016 season, lets get 'em framed and up on the
walls! The next match will likely be in March unless we have a very mild
winter and a real bad yearning to shoot!
Other Great News: Ken Wilkinson has joined the Bradford Sportsmen's Club and
will be offering several NRA instructor classes over the course of 2017. Ken
is the "Intellectual Patriarch" of tens of thousands of shooters in the North
East. Pretty much everybody who's somebody in New England instructional
shooting world can trace their lineage back to Ken. Ken founded SAFE LLC
(Shooting and Firearm Educators) which has over 300 NRA instructors as
members. When it comes to NRA firearm's instruction - Ken's the guy!
Here's wishing everyone the very best of the holiday season!
Jack
