Dear all,
I am currently investigating having the author of *The Hate U Give*, Angie
Thomas, visit Bentley. I have reached out to various student clubs and a
core group of our students and faculty are reading the book right now and
are very eager to have her visit. Ms. Thomas has told me that her fee for
a visit is $2000 plus travel and lodging but that she IS WILLING TO
NEGOTIATE if multiple visits can be planned! I have just checked her event
calendar <http://angiethomas.com/events> and I see that she will be in
Santa Monica on April 29.
I am reaching out to all of you high school BAISL members to see if we can
have enough visits to make it financially viable to have Ms. Thomas come.

in a visit. I am guessing about the dates, but given her current event
calendar schedule I would say sometime between April 24 and May 5 would be
what I would aim for.
