At Pre-K- 8 Nueva, we have a fixed weekly schedule for grade Pre-K through 3rd
grade. 4th grade comes as a weekly elective choice once/week. Middle School
comes as needed, but since the library has two MS classrooms, we have MS
students around all the time. So, we are a combo of fixed/flexible
scheduling, but our library is big enough to host more than one activity at a
time.

Hello,
Here at Lick-Wilmerding we have an 8 day block schedule. 4 periods a day, 75
minutes each, so students meet with teachers 4 times over the 8 day period.
Also included is 40 min tutorial mid-day, all students and faculty available to
work outside of class.

We moved to new schedules in the middle and upper school this year. We've had
rotating schedules in the US for years so the change was more in the fact that
they meet less often but for a longer period. The middle school schedule was a
big change as for the first time they also have a rotating schedule. I haven't
heard a lot of positive comments about it but I haven't asked much either. What
I have mostly heard is that middle schoolers aren't ready for rotating
schedules, they need more consistency, they need to see their teachers every
day. Below is a link to the page that explains the changes, with links to the
two division schedules.

Good morning, all,
Help needed! I would really appreciate some data on the number of K-8 schools
in BAISL that currently use block or other forms of flexible scheduling, as
opposed to the traditional 45 or 55 minute, 6-period day, along with a few
highlights/drawbacks of that alternative scheduling.
Thank you so much!
