Hi Steven,
Oh, don't get me started on Melbourne Taxi drivers!!! "Brothers". Yes, we
call them that, because many of the dodgy drivers that I'm sure many
blindies can speak about are un-licensed and are most likely driving for
their families. So it's normally "My Brother has taxi and I drive for him",
when ever you ever challenge one of them, when you're asking about the
directions he's taking and why your trip is taking longer than it should and
you are worried about the cost. Not to mention your personal safety.

So Steven, like you I do agree that safety should be a priority for drivers
but also for those of unfortunate to be taken for a ride. (yes ride could
have more than one meaning here too). LOL!!!!
Cheers
E:)

Ok here's an update.

Meetings are taking place this afternoon between all stake holders.

I seriously doubt anything will be resolved, it's as bad as the taxi drivers
here in Victoria and the taxi directorate here in Victoria arguing with one
another, in fact, I still don't know whatever happened to those promises of
better security for taxi drivers, and yes, even though some of them are
lousy, they still deserve the rite to drive without having knives or guns
held to their throats by stupid passengers to drunk or high on drugs to care
about the consequences for those of us who choose to behave ourselves in
taxis.

but an audio announcement after the beeps inside the train would be nice.
