Hi,
I observed both 2004 F4 Bradfield and 2002 T7 LINEAR with 10x50 binos this
morning from Chandler. I first saw LINEAR at 4:40 AM. It had a diffuse coma
with a stubby 3/4 degree tail. I then had to walk to the end of the street to
get a low horizon and away from the street lights to see Bradfield. I first
saw Bradfield at 4:50 AM. Very nice! Bradfield had a bright, condensed coma
and a 2+ degree tail. It was also lower on the brightening horizon than
LINEAR. Over the next few minutes, LINEAR's tail began to shorten quickly in
the brightening sky. Bradfield's tail continue to hold its own at 2 visible
degrees. I couldn't see either naked eye. I also couldn't see naked eye the
4th mag stars I used to hop to the comets. I would guess LINEAR's mag to be
about 3.5. I would guess Bradfield's mag to be 2 or brighter. Yay! Comets!
:-)
Mark
