[AZ-Observing] telescope troubles

I just saw something while I was fooling around with a Moonrise program. I
think you had the time zone set to MINUS 7 and it is PLUS 7. The question
to answer is what number would you have to change your local time to UT. I
think we were doing that math backward. At least that is how two different
pieces of software I use do it. The value is positive in both of these
programs.
Could it be that simple???
