The next opportunity for a SAC ATM group meeting would be in January.
The present plan is to have the SAC ATM meeting(s) at Paul Lind's house
more or less every month on the Tuesday evening prior to the Friday SAC
meeting.
In passing, I would mention that Paul's home shop offers a good deal
more room than Beevo's (for a possible group project), and is similarly
equipped with machine shop equipment. But I like the way that Beevo has
stepped up for this project. His design is very good, with strong
attention to detail and good workmanship.
The issue of achieving precise center distance on the arm pivots is
important, but I think with a simple fixture the holes can be drilled
accurately on an ordinary drill press, with care.
My own (evolving) design is more complicated, due to the issue of trying
to support the rather heavy 25x100 binos. I also have a pair of 5 inch
(120 mm) straight-through ship binoculars being overhauled, so the
(future) goal is to have a design which will work for those. Most folks
would not need the extra rigidity, of course.

made easily in some sort of quantity. My final rendition was a bit time
consuming on the mill and lathe, but maybe it could be tweaked to make
it less machine shop intensive. I could host the construction here at
home. The really critical part of the building is making the pivot holes
very equal in distance on each part. Beevo

in folks to have an aluminum bino mount party some time? I'd be
interested in making an aluminum rig, as my oak one is not as smooth as
I'd like at times. Dick H
