[AZ-Observing] Re: binocular viewing

Fran, there are many good web pages with plans and ideas, along with
descriptions of how others built a parallelogram mount. Of course there
are also commercially made units. Here are a few URLs that popped up
from a quick search:
Rick Miseroy’s wooden bino mount (with improvements)
http://www.astro-tom.com/projects/binomount/binocular_mount.htm
J. Van Gestel’s aluminum tubing bino mount
http://home.wanadoo.nl/jhm.vangastel/Astronomy/binocs/binocs.htm
Mike Finn’s pages (Good discussion of various designs, including mirror
viewers)
http://www.geocities.com/asegastronomy/Binomount.html
Graham Wood’s pages (Good discussion of design choices)
http://www.backyardvoyager.com/par-binomount.html
I am currently working on plans for a parallelogram which will support
my 25 x 100 Celestron SkyMaster binos (as well as others in my
collection....) Have fun, and please report back on your progress!
PS -- Where is your "backyard" observing site located (city/state)?
