Barb, As you have probably guesses by now, the bets advice is to Test & Shop = the market. As mentioned in previous posted, you would certainly be = welcomed at most any clubs star parties, and members will gladly let to = look through tier scopes and explain how they work, why they have what = they have. etc. Trust me, we a group of people who have never met a = conversation about astronomy we didn't like. :) SAC has a loaner telescope available to members. It is a 6" Dobsonian. = I'm not sure if you are a member or not, but You're more than welcome to = join us if not and it would be nice to finally loan our loaner :). Our = next meeting is next Friday Nov. 18th, You may want to attend to get = more information about our club and what we have to offer. If you are shopping for a small scope, = look at the review of small scopes in the December 2005 Sky & Telescope = magazine. The Meade small scopes are all at the bottom. They are presently exploiting = that market segment. Get an Orion catalog: http://www.telescope.com. They = were rated higher in the article. I see an Ebay item, number 756031424, that is a Meade = telescope with an "autostar" attachment. Will that be easy enough for a rank = novice to use to find a particular star? > Barb > -- > See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and = please > send personal replies to the author, not the list. > > -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and = please=20 send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
