Hi all, With the NWS forecast (http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/Flagstaff/ ) and animated water vapor imagery (http://www.cira.colostate.edu/RAMM/Rmsdsol/menu.html ) looking very favorable for observing this coming weekend, I'm wondering how many folks would be interested in making the trek to Antelope Park, the site of the rain/hail soaked Mormon Mountain Star Stare? If at least ten people would commit to making the trip and contributing $5 for a portable toilet rental, I'll make the arrangements for a portajohn to be delivered Friday for the weekend. Antelope Park is a true dark site (http://members.aol.com/billferris/event.html ) at 7200 feet elevation. It is accessible via forest roads which are, for the most part, well graded and maintained. The last mile gets a little bumpy but nothing that requires 4WD (http://members.aol.com/billferris/directions.html ). Daytime highs should be in the mid-80s with nighttime lows in the mid-40s. FYI, the Coconino National Forest is planning to institute fire restrictions on Thursday, which would allow the use of lanterns and gas stoves but preclude open camp fires in the forest. Also, smoking outside would be prohibited. As soon as I get 10 yea's, I'll order the portajohn.
