It is interesting to note they have a web site; see http://www.jir.com/[1]
and there is a book, "The Best of the Journal of Irreproducable Results," by
George H. Scherr[2] (Editor), available at Amazon.com.
It is difficult to search their site looking for any article, much less the
article referenced by Bob. Perhaps some enterprising frustrated astronomer
with time on their hands due to weather can do more research.
