While I know this will not be seen from Arizona the following from
the web cam list may still be of interest.

Subject: ESO Press Release 03/04: Announcing the Venus Transit 2004 Programme
Dear subscribers,
On June 8, 2004, Venus will pass in front of the Sun. This transit
is extremely rare as the last one occurred in 1882.
On this important occasion, the European Southern Observatory (ESO),
in collaboration with several partner institutions and with support
from the European Commission in the framework of the European Science
and Technology Week, has established the Venus Transit 2004 (VT-2004)
public education programme which takes advantage of this
extraordinary celestial event to expose the public to a number of
fundamental issues at the crucial interface between society and basic
science.
VT-2004 has several components, including an instructive and
comprehensive website which was officially launched today. It is
directed towards the wide public in general and the media, school
students and their teachers, as well as amateur astronomers in
particular. It invites all interested persons to participate actively
in the intercontinental VT-2004 Observing Campaign (that reenacts
historical Venus Transit observations) and the VT-2004 Video Contest.
More information about this ambitious public education programme is
available in ESO Press Release 03/04
(http://www.eso.org/outreach/press-rel/pr-2004/pr-03-04.html) and on
the VT-2004 website (http://www.vt-2004.org).
Kind regards,
The ESO EPR Dept.
