[AZ-Observing] Re: Venus Egress Time-lapse

Tom - I didn't know that was possible in PS. I have CS2, but it has the
animation window so I will use that. My series was taken from a tripod, so
alignment is an issue. I am going to align the frames using Nebulosity on
Venus to get everything close. Then I will pull up the frames in PS and align
on the moon. Might work, but I have 65 frames to do.

  Dave,

I am using Photoshop CS3. First, you have to open all of your images,
and paste each of them into a new Photoshop file; they will go in as
layers. Drop down the Window menu, and Animation is one of the palettes
you can bring up. In the upper-right corner of that palette is a
pop-down, and "make frames from layers" enables you to put all of those
layers into an animation. The animation options are self-explanatory.
What takes most of the time is aligning each layer, since polar
alignment and tracking are never perfect. What took way too much time
in my sequence was attempting to rubber stamp out dust motes on the
sensor that were positioned right on top of the moon.

  Tom

  Tom - I have a time-lapse series I captured with a DSLR and a 300 mm
lens - what software are you using to put the sequence together? David

While I was attempting to put Venus on the chip of the video camera
during egress, Jenn was imaging it with the SLR camera through the
refractor. Here is a time-lapse sequence of eight images. It's 1.5Mb,
so it will take a while to download.
