[AZ-Observing] Re: Thunderbird Park Star Party 10 May 2008

Hey, I want one of them 0mm focal length eyepieces! I set up at UA mall
as part of the festivities in front of Flandrau Planetarium (Tucson). I
didn't hear anyone mention Mercury! It was looking great last night -
dozens of folks saw it thru my 14" showing a phase very similar to that of
the moon. After that got too low, I did similar to Tom - set it to 450X
and showed them craters on the moon's terminator. A lot of them noticed
the central mountains inside the medium-sized craters prompting
discussions of how they formed (no, not volcanic, which was their first
guess it seemed).
