Alarmist reports to the contrary, it is going to be the place to be, and should
be a memorable not-to-miss occasion for everyone. If one spot is too crowded
for you, there are spots further along the road. Many amateur astronomers, from
here, out of the Valley and out of state will be there, and know how to behave
at star parties and will most certainly instruct those they bring who are new.
Vekol was a great site to view the Leonids in 99 and 00 and there was little
problem with lights or latecomers and none after midnight. There will be some
white light incidents at various times I'm sure; if your tolerance is low, or
plan long exposure deep sky photography, go deeper in.
At sunset there will be a cresent Moon and many are going to be observing the
darkside for meteor hits. Remember to check for this phenomenon; Bill Peters
says they have been observed in previous years and some fairly bright ones have
been seen.

Is there anyone going to Vekohl from this group, or is everyone scared off
by the thoughts of headlights at 2:30am? I'm considering giving it a go
there. Headlights would have to settle down by midnight wouldn't they?
