Hello everybody,

I have been wondering about the status of Palomar for a couple of days, but my 
Web searches came up empty. Finally, Cal Tech has
issued a press release. you can view it at:

This is good news. It looks like they are as prepared as can be, thanks to an 
astounding level of foresight by the builders and
past/present custodians of the observatory. Hale and company were even bigger 
geniuses than I thought. . .
