Hello Bob and Bill,
Thanks for the info. I did/do have both sources of info at my disposal, and
it piqued my curiousity, which is why it is one of my "mysteries". My first
view of it at 5 mile meadow appeared as a cluster with some nebulosity
around 20 Vul. The humidity was high, so I noted the nebulosity was
probably due to this, but I did not see 2 separate clusters at that time.
(We could see how they might be considered 2 clusters last night, but really
would like better conditions to see if any fainter stars come out to help
define them as seperate.) Adding to the confusion is that you can find
observing notes on both clusters, and both are plotted in the Millenium Star
Atlas as separate, but overlaying, clusters. What's interesting is that
they are both on the Herschel 400 list. Wonder if they threw that in there
to make people think about it?
Thad
