[AZ-Observing] Sunday not too hot either....

Well, a few may have done well with Thursday and Saturday observing, but let me
tell you, Ma Nature ripped us off royally Sunday.
The wind was calm, and the air was beautifully clear, so Chuck Akers and I
decided to try a short trip to the Flatiron area.
The sun set, the wind came, the air was mush, and we packed it up early and
left. We were definately victims of false advertising.
What we did do was a short stint through Lacerta. 7243 was a pretty cool open
cluster, and is worth a return visit. We went to quite a few other clusters in
that area, but encountered an interesting effect. We called it the "can't see
the tree through the forest" effect. We knew there were clusters there, but
darn if we could see them, the Milky Way is so rich through there. We also
managed a return visit to NGC 6885/6882. Without going into details, it's one
of my NGC mysteries as there is some confusion as to which is which and so on.
The info available isn't quite conclusive, and I wanted to see if I could sort
it out. Looks like I'll have to shelve this until next summer. In the end, we
blamed all of our troubles on the mean-spirited bait and switch that Ma Nature
dealt us and called it a night.
